A charming vintage Stangl Pottery Cerulean Warbler, model #3456, from the company’s beloved collection of hand-painted bird figurines.
The little warbler is captured in a wonderfully animated pose, leaning forward with wings lifted and its broad tail raised behind it. Softly layered shades of blue cover the body and wings, accented with deep green and brown, while sculpted yellow leaves and a richly mottled green base complete the woodland scene.
Individually hand painted, the piece has the wonderful variation and painterly quality that make Stangl birds so appealing. At just 5 inches, it is an easy little piece to tuck onto a bookshelf, hutch, mantel, or among a collection of blue and white.
The underside bears the Stangl Pottery Birds backstamp along with additional identifying marks.
