A beautiful vintage Spode plate in the Rhine pattern, featuring a pastoral English landscape framed by an elaborate floral border. The rich mulberry-red transferware has wonderful depth, while the softly scalloped edge and dotted rim give the small plate an especially pretty profile.
At approximately 6 inches, this is an easy piece to mix into a collected table. Use it for bread, dessert or afternoon treats, layer it with simple cream or white dinnerware, or let the detailed transferware bring a little color to an open shelf or plate rack. The smaller scale also makes it a lovely plate for serving lemon wedges, butter or other little extras at the table.
