Stunning vintage Spode Archive Collection dinner plate featuring the Victorian Series “Rural Scenes” pattern in a rich mulberry red.
The detailed pastoral scene depicts an old English country house surrounded by trees and grazing cattle, framed by an elaborate border of trailing hops, leaves, and blossoms. Based on a Spode design first introduced circa 1882, the pattern has all the character of antique English transferware with the practicality of a later vintage piece.
The warm ivory ground and deep mulberry decoration make this a beautiful plate for mixing with creamware, ironstone, floral china, and other collected transferware. Perfect for the dinner table, layered place settings, or displayed among a collection of English pottery.
