Our cutting boards began in our own kitchen—with the pizza peel we reach for every Friday night, the bread board at nearly every meal, and the familiar board where I slice fruit in the morning. Simple pieces that become part of the rhythm of a home.
My husband, Aaron, began woodworking after we moved back home, joining a local woodworking guild, honing his skills. Today, he handcrafts each board exclusively for Bluebird Vintage Manor, doing every step himself—from design and wood selection to cutting, sanding, and hand finishing.
Each design takes its inspiration from the way we cook, serve, and gather. A board for everyday meals, a generous surface for preparing a family feast, or a beautiful piece for bringing bread to the table. Each receives two coats of food-grade mineral oil to bring out the wood’s natural grain and warmth.
We wanted to create pieces worth keeping—useful enough to reach for every day and beautiful enough to leave on the counter.
They may be new today, but our hope is that, with years of use and care, they’ll become someone’s treasured vintage pieces, carrying the marks and memories of a well-loved kitchen.
